"In 2014, 95 women in Australia were victim to Family- and Domestic Violence-related homicide."
- Australian Bureau of Statistics, Report here
We should not forget that both men and women in Australia are subject to domestic violence, but in light of International Women's day coming up tomorrow we have been focusing our time and effort on Women's Issues.
Despite previous attempts from the Australian government to run awareness campaigns, education programs and federal funding to help address the problem, prevalence of violence against women is still through the roof. In a largely privileged society, we should not be exposed to such preventable issues to such an extent.
"Between July 2014 and June 2015 police recorded family violence offences for over 35,000 Australians."
